A QiPP é uma organização sem fins lucrativos alicerçada numa cultura internacional de evidence-based policy, que tem por missão contribuir para o desenvolvimento de melhores respostas aos desafios sociais.
QIPP is a not-for-profit NGO that believes in evidence-based policy and whose mission is to contribute to the development of better answers to social challenges. QIPP develops and participates in social projects, scaling its impact and promoting its sustainability through an efficient communication strategy.
At QIPP, we believe that civil society has a role to play in improving lives in our communities and that cooperation between universities, state or public authorities and NGOs is the key to build a better future for all. This cooperation can either happen through the implementation of projects or disseminating good practices that can contribute to the development of public policy.

QIPP is up-to-date on many fields of social policy, as its team members follow paper publications and academic discussions in many fields of public policy. Therefore, QIPP can align the project it participates in with the state-of-the-art in policy development.
WHAT QIPP DOES:
1. Literature review of policy developments.
2. Contact experts to better understand which strategies work best to achieve the project's aims.
3. Align project's objectives and evaluation indicators with the policy debate.
QIPP's team members acumulate a vast experience in partnering and leading social projects, both nationally and internationally. That allows a deep understanding and ease to adjust to projects' requirements, needs and contexts.
WHAT QIPP DOES:
1. Be a reliable and experienced partner in the project's implementation.
2. Provide evidence-based inputs to build the right strategy for a project.
3. Contribute to applications for national and international funding.
QiPP's expertise in communcation makes it a valuable dissemination partner. Its' team can lead a dissemination strategy and coordinate its implementation, making sure all project materials and terminologies are aligned and coherent with the objectives and the target-audiences.
WHAT QIPP DOES:
1. Define and implement a communication strategy.
2. Brand a project and coordinate the conception of its dissemination materials.
3. Efficiently use social media and establish a relationship with traditional media, to increase the reach of a project.
QIPP knows the decision-making processes behind legislative and executive powers. This knowledge allows it to align the project with policymakers' needs and ensure that its results are relevant to the development of public policy.
WHAT QIPP DOES:
1. Define and coordinate a strategy to meet or reach policymakers, using materials that are useful to their needs.
2. Conceive events (public or invitation-only) for information-sharing.
3. Contribute to the project's policy recommendations having in mind its positive impact and its contribution to policy development.
ALEXANDRE HOMEM CRISTO
QIPP's President. Political Scientist. Policy analyst and opinion-maker at Observador (2017's awarded best newspaper in Portugal). Experienced European policy experimentation project manager. Former Portuguese National Counselor for Education and former parliamentary advisor. Author of many published papers, chapters and books, mainly on Education policy.
CATARINA MACIEL. Economist. Social Economy expert and 15-years experienced manager of national and international projects (Erasmus+ and EEA Grants, among others). Has worked with many public authorites in the fields of training, disavantaged youth and entrepreneurship. President of the Board of Leigos para o Desenvolvimento, a NGO that manages volunteering missions in African countries.
MARIANA PIMENTA. Communication designer. Project manager at Associação Salvador, she has experience with social projects in the fields of disabled people and youth at risk. Trainer for volunteering missions in Africa, she has managed two social projects in developping countries (São Tomé e Principe and Angola). Social entrepreneur and artistic expression teacher, she has participated in social projects involving primary students.
INÊS TEOTÓNIO PEREIRA. Jurist and former journalist. Former member of the Portuguese National Parliament and former political advisor in government cabinets, she has experience in legislative and executive decision-making processes. Former journalist and cmmunication expert.
SÉRGIO CARREIRA LEAL. Teacher and entrepreneur. Teaches Chemistry in Lisbon since 2001. Microsoft Innovation expert and social entrepreneur. Teacher trainer and manager of a study center for primary and secondary students. Has a long experience in European projects regarding entrepreneurship education and training.
QIPP was co-founded by Alexandre Homem Cristo (political scientist) and Catarina Maciel (economist), and they were joined by Inês Teotónio Pereira (jurist and former journalist), Mariana Pimenta (communication designer) and Sérgio Carreira Leal (teacher and entrepreneur). QIPP gathers experts from many different academic backgrounds and professional experiences connected to policy development, project management and media/ communication. This combination of knowledges allows us to establish QIPP as a bridge between academic, social and political worlds, making its dissemination strategies more efficient and effective for the projects it participates in.
While implementing projects, as coordinator or as a partner in the consortium, QIPP’s team members will be joined by thematic experts whose academic/professional background ensures each step made is based on rigorous information and based on empirical evidence.
